SESSION TRAD

The musicians don’t necessarily know each other. They share a common repertoire of traditional melodies that they know by heart. They take it in turns to play a melody or a series of melodies. It’s not a concert, it’s not a rehearsal, it’s a time for sharing, open to any suggestions about traditional music. Anyone can join in with the musical theme, and the learning and passing on is done by ear.

There’s no programme, just a few horizons: Occitan music, traditional Aveyron, Auvergne, Breton perhaps? And why not a few tunes from the Balkans? because in the end, traditional music from here is also a blend of cultures.
