A story about…
…of hunger – the kind that leads us off the beaten track, that awakens the hairy ogress, that sets us on the path to love…
…of fur, the kind that protects us from the cold, that awakens our wild side, that bristles in the face of danger – the ogress’s fur…
…of freedom – the freedom to choose one’s own path, to make mistakes, to say nasty things, to play with death, with life…
Mama Cecilia and her daughter Chiara love pancakes so much that they eat nothing else (the mother will explain why). But one day Mama Cécilia has had enough and sends her magic crêpe pan to her mother, Maminna, who lives on the other side of the dense forest where the Hairy Ogre lurks.
Chiara, the little girl, driven by her irresistible craving for crêpes, will brave her fears and the local legends as she crosses the forbidden forest. On her journey, she’ll come across a solitary river and an old goat, and narrowly escape the Hairy Ogre.
