Casties-Labrande is a commune bordered by the river Touch, and its economy is based on agriculture. The commune was formed from two ancient seigneuries. The church of Saint-Jacques used to welcome pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
The village also boasts a 19th-century windmill. To get a better idea of the village, take a diversion to the Ile Marin district, from above, to see the 17th-century stone dovecote.
In the Labrande district, you’ll discover the remains of the 13th-century château de Mont, made of stone and fortified bricks.
You can also stay at the “Le Casties” campsite.
