The village is located between two rivers: the Touch and the Saverette, which gives it its name. The origins of the village date back to the early 12th century, when it was a Sauveté founded by the Hospitallers of St John of Jerusalem.
Savères boasts a superb architectural heritage, including the 19th-century church of Saint-Barthélémy and the 14th-century château.
The hiking trail (around Savères lake) is very pleasant and easily accessible.
