Les portes du village

In the Middle Ages, the village was closed off by four drawbridge gates, of which only the pillars remain today (one on the Toulouse side, another on the Saint-Gaudens side, one on the Mairie side and one next to the keep). The latter was removed very early on to provide access to the Rue du Matet, which led to Marignac-Laspeyres and the neighbouring woods (woodland and crops, which were essential to the daily lives of the inhabitants).
