Promenade du Picon

Situated on the site of the former fortified castle, which became a prison and was destroyed in the 18th century, this promenade was laid out after the castle mound was levelled and planted with chestnut trees. It offers an exceptional panoramic view of the Pyrenees on a clear day. An orientation table helps you spot the different massifs in the Pyrenees range. To the west is the stele of Abbé Sicard, and opposite the grand staircase, the stele of Carolus, another native of the area, who was well known in his day in music-hall circles as an ombromancer and telepath.
