ABBE SICARD and CAROLUS and MAGDOLA EXHIBIT AT THE MEDIA LIBRARY

Our two local celebrities, whose statues stand in the Picon garden, are often little known to visitors and Fousserétois alike.
The two exhibition rooms on the 1st floor of the media library will be hosting
until 30 July, presenting the work of Abbé Sicard and the international career of the artists Carolus and Magdola.

The work of Abbé Sicard, a teacher of the deaf and dumb at the Institut National des Sourds-Muets in Paris, was born in Le Fousseret in 1742.
He was the successor to the Abbé de l’Épée, and a whole room of exceptional documents will help you appreciate his work.

Carolus, whose real name was Carsalade, was born in Le Fousseret in 1891. After a career as a comic trouper, he and his wife Magdola developed a breathtaking act of telepathy. They performed it on the world’s greatest stages. Carolus had every talent: songwriter, writer, singer, organiser: you’ll discover all this with the help of large paintings, showcases, videos, songs he composed and all the documents he left us.
