LECTURE MARIONNETTIQUE “PEAUX”

To moult, to shed one’s skin
To save it, my skin
To see what lies beneath, who I am in my flesh.
This scar, on my surface—what am I to do with it?
This performance is the result of research into violence against children.
On stage, a woman manipulates objects representing skin. She questions her
humanity and her wounds—the very things that define her.
A heart beating beneath the skin.
Another woman accompanies her by reading excerpts from texts: *Le Moi-peau* by Didier Anzieu, Honoré de Balzac’s *La peau de chagrin*, and Christine Angot’s *Peau d’Ane*.
