Marignac-Laspeyres

Marignac-Laspeyres is the leading earthenware-producing village in the southern Garonne. The village provided the raw material (clay quarry) for its earthenware factories and those of Martres-Tolosane for more than two centuries. Gallo-Roman thermal baths have also been discovered at a place called “Coulieu” (a former washhouse). These archaeological discoveries have confirmed the existence of a Gallo-Roman villa on this site, occupied between the 2nd and 4th centuries. In the village, you can see a Gothic church, a wash-house and some earthenware on display at the Town Hall.

The commune is watered by the Bernès, a tributary of the Garonne.
