Montastruc-Savès

The origin of the village’s name comes from the Latin “mons” (mountain, hill) and “astruc” (well situated). Montastruc le Vieux was abandoned in the 19th century and the new village was built on another ridge. The church of St-Michel was rebuilt in 1865. The view of the hills and the Pyrenees from here is much appreciated. It is a small farming village, where you can visit the 17th-century Moulin de Bacques and the 16th- and 19th-century Château.
