Plagnole, “the little plain”, is a small village of 312 souls whose steadily growing population has more than doubled since 1968. Its diversity is expressed as much by its relief, which fluctuates between the last terraces of the Garonne valley and the first slopes of the Gers, as by its inhabitants, who are farmers rooted in a deeply rural and agricultural land, and new residents working in the Toulouse conurbation.
The town’s heritage, inhabited since the end of the Gallo-Roman era, includes a “castrum” surrounded by ditches. There is also an old tile factory, a dovecote and a wrought-iron passion cross.
Walkers will also enjoy the rolling hills and numerous woods that dot the landscape.
