Vestiges des remparts

Behind the building of the former abattoirs built in the 19th century, a piece of wall bears witness to what the ramparts once were. A barbican probably stood on the site of the building to protect the town.
The tower of the ramparts, part of a dwelling that cannot be seen, is, along with this section of wall, the only vestige of the fortifications. Open with archways, it was a place of defence for the town.
