Le Fousseret
Boucle des Fontaines
Departure : Parking du Picon
1. Head towards the town centre.
2. Turn left in front of the patisserie into rue Notre Dame, which runs alongside the media library. On the left, admire the 17th-century statue of the Virgin Mary in the wall of a house on the site of a former Notre-Dame chapel. Walk down to the brick bridge, where you can still admire the town's coat of arms.
3. Before the bridge, turn right uphill. Cross the D6 to take the small shady path opposite. Follow it downhill towards the stream and the Cazac fountain (turn right after the bridge). The path climbs.
4. At the top of the hill, take the path on the right that leads through fields and woods, turn right after the small bridge and head back up towards the village. Cross the D6 opposite the cemetery and head back towards the town centre. At the end of the cemetery, turn left along the chemin de l'aire to the D48.
5. At the stop, admire the view of the Pyrenees and the remains of the Convent fountain (a representation of Notre Dame de Lourdes).
6. Continue along the footpath. After a hundred metres, take the dirt track on the left (before the wooden bench) and go down to the river ‘la Louge’ (after crossing the D8 and the Saint-Martory canal).
7. Before the Louge, turn right onto the grassy path known as ‘du Moulin de la ville’. When you reach the D8, turn right, cross the Saint-Martory canal and go up the Chemin de la Croix des Champs (opposite).
8. At La Croix, head towards the town centre: 25 m further on, turn right onto Chemin de la Coquinière, which leads to Rue de la Porte d'en Bas .
9. Turn left for 40 metres, then right onto the beautiful Coquinière staircase, which leads to the Picon garden.
