Lac du Parayre

1. With your back to the stadium, turn right onto the route de Saiguède which climbs towards the village. After 400 m, turn left and follow the GR86 signs to join the D632 via the Chemin de Barrat. Turn right and go as far as the crossroads. Cross the road, take the D7 for 80 m and turn right into the allée des Tilleuls as far as the water tower. Go around it to the right and turn left onto the track as far as the last houses. Go down to the stream, cross it and go back up opposite.

2. Continue along this path until you reach the small tarmac road at the hamlet of En Castagné, then turn right onto the grassy path.

3. At the end of the path, where you find tarmac, turn left and continue to the end. At the crossroads, turn right and after 100 metres, take the first road on the left, chemin de Bourrieu.

4. Follow the road and at the bend in the road, continue straight ahead on the track that leads down to the bottom of the valley. Cross the stream and go back up the hill on a track that brings you to the D7d.

5. At the D7d, turn left and the road curves round a series of bends. Continue until you reach the STOP sign. Take care! You are now on the D7!

6. Traversez la départementale 7 (Attention soyez très vigilant !) pour suivre le chemin qui part en face et vous amène au lac du Parayre. Un peu plus loin le chemin vire à gauche et s’éloigne du lac.

7. Cross the départementale 7 (be very careful!) and follow the track opposite to the Lac du Parayre. A little further on, the path veers to the left and away from the lake.

8. Cross the road and turn right for a few metres. Turn left into the woods. Follow this path to En Castagné. (GR86)

9. Retrace your steps as far as the village, turning right at the crossroads, then head back down to the stadium along the GR.
