Sentier de la forêt

1. With your back to the water tower and hiking signs, turn right onto Boulevard de Verdun for 50m and then left down Rue Notre Dame as far as the cemetery. Pass to the left of the cemetery, and after the footbridge turn left to join the Chemin de la Tuilerie.

2. At the top of the path, turn left into chemin de Simourre and then right into chemin des Castagnes. Continue along the path until you reach the bridge over the former railway line (point of interest A).

3. Then turn left for about 100m. From here, take the tarmac track on the left and climb for 100m. *It is possible to shorten the route by staying on the tarmac track for 70m (Info Route 1). At the top, fork right onto the ‘dead-end road’ which continues along a country lane.

4. At around 700m, leave a house and the tarmac track on your left and turn right to go down into the forest. right to go down into the forest. After 400m, turn right, following the signs, continue straight on for 800 to 900m to join the forest track. (Information Point 2)

5. Turn left to continue along the GR86, which crosses a bridge over the Rédaou stream and follows the Montamat track.

6. At the end of this road, at the signpost, turn right onto the GR86b, which returns to the previous forest track. On this path, turn left to continue the route and return to the village.
