Sentier des Hospitaliers

1. Take the passage between the village hall and the football pitch. On the left is a wood-fired oven and an ox-shoeing machine. Walk along the pitch, turning right at the bend, then left into the lane leading to Place des Marronniers. Head towards the church.

2. Opposite the listed church (which is often open, so don't hesitate to go inside), turn left, walk past the town hall and follow the Rue des Hospitaliers; at the end of the street, take the staircase to the right of the cross and cross the Route Aymeric de Murel.

3. A path leads down to the wash-house and fountain. Walk down to a small wooden bridge over the River Bure.

4. Cross the road, then straight ahead on the track for around 300 metres. At the 1st junction, take the track on the right, which leads up behind the farm buildings.

5. Follow the D7c to the left for 300 m, then turn right onto the track which climbs slightly (the tarmac soon disappears). Continue straight on until you reach the D3. Cross it carefully and continue straight ahead on a small road for 500 m.

6. Arrive at a place called Mauba. Turn left onto a country lane and continue straight on for several kilometres. Cross the D7c and D28a in turn.

7. You will soon come to a group of houses (Estarguès) and a crossroads. Take a sharp left for about 50 metres, then another left along a pretty path that runs alongside a wood of oak trees.

8. Continue until you reach the D3, which you cross carefully before taking the small road opposite. This takes you back to Poucharramet, skirting the lake.

9. After a short descent into the Bure valley, you reach the village by taking the first bridge on the right over the river. After a 300 m climb, turn left to reach the Commanderie car park.
