Seeking it, losing it, changing it, (re)discovering it, having it or lacking it… Jeanne Simone sets out to dissect the concept of ‘work’, that word which can sometimes be a source of tension. And through this term, it is our relationship with the body and the world that seems to be called into question.
It all began with Antoine Mouton’s long poem, *Nom d’un animal* (no joke!), partly written for this performance in a public space. This text, with its social and political commentary – at once funny and incongruous – is brought to life by the bodies of five performers and the sounds emanating from a small collection of radios.
Animal Travail, or how to (un)ravel our relationship with work, so that – at last – a collective space of vulnerability and tenderness may blossom.
Whether in Boussens or Carbonne, let’s come together and take time off work… at least for the duration of a performance!
