At the crossroads of sculpture, painting and light installation, his work also explores the links between art and health, giving rise to soothing devices. This approach has led to monumental projects such as L’Espace de ressourcement, a 65m² installation in the heart of the Purpan URM hospital (Toulouse), where more than 40,000 holes dot the walls, inviting visitors to enjoy an immersive, enveloping experience. The building was awarded the 2017 Prix du concours de la Construction Bois. Anaëlle’s commitment and passion also led her to obtain a doctorate, which she was awarded with first-class honours and congratulations from the jury.
Anaëlle Bouthier designs modular works of light that adapt to the spaces in which they are installed. She works on different scales, from the painting to the installation integrated into the architecture, taking into account the volumes, circulation and quality of light in the space. She regularly visits the site to advise on the choice of format, size and positioning of the works, as well as the choice of light colours, wood types and finishes (lacquers, paints), with a view to harmonising them with the existing environment. Her work is aimed at both public spaces (hospitals, institutions, cultural venues, businesses) and private projects, with a tailor-made approach that is sensitive and attentive to the experience of users.
