OUSMANE DERME SCULPTEUR

Born in 1969 in Burkina Faso, Ousmane Dermé began devoting himself entirely to sculpture in the 1980s. He quickly reached a wide audience by creating works in bronze that play with lines and pure forms. He made a name for himself by designing and creating the monument to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) in Ouagadougou.

In 2005, he set up his own studio in the south of France, where he has lived ever since. His creations can be found in private collections in many countries.

EXPERIENCED WORKS
Depending on his inspirations, Ousmane Dermé mainly interprets the human figure, seeking to express the beauty of nature and life through the movement of the material.
He creates sculptures with smooth forms and clean lines that inspire harmony and serenity.

THE MATERIAL, BRONZE
Ousmane Dermé learned the lost-wax casting technique at a very early age, and has mastered all the stages of this art of fire. Today, he creates his bronze works in his workshop in Poucharramet, France.
