SOLÈNE LÈBRE / SAINTE-FOY-DE-PEYROLIÈRES

Solène Lèbre is one of those ceramic and pottery sculptors who loves to share her passion and learn from others.

Manual arts have always been part of her daily life. But it was during her expatriation to Spain, where she lived for almost 4 years, that she made working with clay her main art. She trained on courses that now enable her to approach her creations as much from an aesthetic point of view as from a technical one. She will be opening her workshop in Sainte-Foy de-Peyrolières in 2016. She gives shape to her ideas with her “fingertips”, because it is through contact with materials that her creations take shape. Solène refuses to adopt a “style”, even if patina* – to give the illusion of metal through clay – remains predominant in the methods she uses.

Her versatile works, full of poetry in colour and material, feature characters, anatomical figures, flowers or animals that she sometimes combines with supports – often steel – that she has found. She also applies her skills to ceramics, creating exquisite jewellery in particular.

Solène recently had an exhibition in Muret (31) at the Ruée vers l’art gallery, where her work was well received by the public, giving her the impetus to continue in this direction. She opens the doors of her studio in Sainte-Foy-de-Peyrolières to a wider public, offering courses and workshops (from 1 to 10 sessions) for adults and children all year round, where everyone is free to create their own artwork and discover the many techniques Solène teaches. She also teaches patience, offering to store her creations so that they can dry before being kiln-fired, glazed and taken home. In this way, she enables everyone to develop their artistic senses through personal creations in a convivial atmosphere.

She also gives workshops in schools and specialist centres such as Rieumes/Lahage. She appreciates the variety of the public she trains, as well as the satisfaction they all derive from putting their imagination into shape.

To help people discover her work and buy her creations, Solène has set up a website. Don’t hesitate to visit it and contact her if you too would like to take part in her workshops.
